history for Addison

Moving along in time, we are way into the 18th century. Here’s some link so I don’t forget.

timeline of costumes
Eighteenth-Century Resources
covers # Art, Architecture, Landscape Gardening, &c.;
# History;
# Literature (and Electronic Texts);
# Music;
# Philosophy;
# Religion & Theology;
# Science & Mathematics;
# Other Fields;
# Professional Resources and Journals (including calls for papers);
# Home Pages of people working in the eighteenth century.

That should keep him busy for a month or so, and then onwards to the Industrial revolution.

bad me

I am a bad, bad, blogger for not posting. :)

I am really addle-brained these days, yes the ADD-ness continues folks. My to-do list is getting longer instead of shorter and I am a cranky pants because of all the candy and chips around the house. I went over my Points too. I don’t have any extra leeway to eat stuff I really want to that unfortunately makes my behind larger than the province. Darn.

I keep hyper-focusing on the regular websites I vist. Yes, that’s me in your stats checking obsessively to see if you updated yet. :D

We need a new matress.

We’re also discussing the possibility of getting a satellite dish. Oi. I could write volumes on that, I am so torn. On the one hand, we’d be od-ing on tv for at least a month with not much else getting done. On the other hand, we would probably be watching all the cool documentaries and educational stuff as well as endless movies & the upcoming Christmas specials.

So yeah, my head is spinning in endless thoughts, my brain farts as soon as I sit down in front of the computer, I can’t remember stuff to save my life (that’s why the potatoes were burnt, honey), I’m not sleeping well and I just want to hole up with a good book (read all the ones in the house) and stuff my face full of potato chips.

Wow, any more angsty and you’d swear I was 18 again. ;)

I guess preggo brain lasts a long, long time.

I felt so crappy yesterday, I totally forgot to blog that it was Meaghan’s birthday! Oops! So wish her a big one, she’s finally 11.
I bought her a huge book of craft recipes and she’s barreling her way through them. :)

Today and tomorrow for sure, I need to play catch up. My house looks like lots and lots of kids went through it. (which they did)
And it has been very hard not eating mouthfulls of mini chocolate bars and all them bags of chips. Mmmmm….
But I did go for my walk today, finally.

last night

Would you believe we had not one person knock on our door?

We left our house early, around 4:15, and mostly hit up the neighbours we know. Only went part-way up the back road before the kids wanted to turn around, too. Oh sure, I was tired, but I would have gone a little further. People driving home from work all smiled when they caught sight of Emma as a ladybug. Nope, she didn’t want to wear her crocodille costume last night at all.

Personally, I can’t wait to hit the clearance bins to get some cool dress-up costumes.

Later, I called in a large party pizza order, and when we went to pick it up, I walked it down three doors to where Addison was doing his MTG tournamnet. He didn’t know I was coming, so it was quite the surprise. All the guys there were glad to see us too. Ron brought our treat box and gave out treats as well. Most of the other guys there were actually his students!

Before we left, Emma was all jazzed to go, jumping up & down being hyper while I tried to put on her stuff. (coat then costume) She started to coke a little, got cleared out, then got all upset and refused to go anywhere. She said she wanted to go upstairs to bed and have num-nums. Wah! Finally I calmed her down, and said we had to go for a drive, and we were going to see Mam too. She didn’t even want to see her Mam and didn’t want any more treats either.

Finally after convincing her she could just sit there, we packed her in the van and wouldn’t you know it? By the time we got downtown she was alseep. And she stayed asleep after the pizza delivery, after bringing her into my Mom’s house, all through Addison arriving, all through his present opening (just the stuff from mom), and the cake eating.

When we drove back in our own driveway, she woke up. I was hoping she’d want to go right to bed, and she did, but about an hour later, she decided that she felt all better and wanted up. :) *sigh*

Anyway, Addison’s haul included the new Weird Al CD, Computer Gaming magazine, a kite, a license plate with his name on it, and Risk II for the computer.

He was impressed and happy, so now we gear up for another b-day today. :)
