the continuing adventures of us
I gave up. I got the girls to push all the toyboxes against the walls to leave until tomorrow.
Now I’m sitting at the computer tinkering with the site index. Not quite finished yet, but how’d I do?
I think I pulled a muscle in my back.
On the up side, every box of toys we have is now in the livng room & foyer. I wish I had a camera.
We were taking down the decorations and the tree, and Emma was crying and flinging herself onto the floor.
“I want Christmastime to come back!”
I planned on getting into my big long list bright and early today, but that’s been shot to heck already.
On today’s agenda is *finally* taking down the many Christmas decorations.
And then we’ll see how far I get into the rest of my list.
- take down decorations
- make dr/dentist appointments
- write entries
- emails
- set up Sarah’s teen community idea
- laundry
- sort out all toys
- sort books
- go to gym
We left here by 9am Friday morning, drove to Fredericton, visited the whole city, stayed in a motel, drove to Saint John the next day, visited everyone there, drove to Moncton, killed a couple hours at the mall to help Emma run off steam, then drove home and got here by 11pm Saturday night.
I have enough material now to last me at least a week or so. Now we need to recover.
Well, the house is clean and the food is out. We’re all sitting here waiting. I know for sure around 15 people are coming, including kids. And then there’s the 15 or so “maybe”s.
Tea & coffee is in the kitchen. On the table is:
punch
pop
chips, cheesies and taco chips
cheese & crackers
pate
veggie tray (broccoli, mushrooms, peppers, carrots, cukes, tomatoes)
onion dip
two trays of squares I made:
– christmas fudge
– rice krispie squares
– sweetened condensed milk “dump” squares (with coconut, choc chips & cherries)
– pastel coconut squares
bakery tray of donuts, pound cake, mini iced cranberry & orange scones, and gingerbread cookies
greek phylo triangles – onions, olive, tomato & feta cheese
PLUS – mom is bringing two kinds of sandwiches and some spinach dip. Ya think we have enough food?
