Some highlights from yesterday

Addison ordered his new custom computer, paid for by his money, and as I was talking to the store owners, the wife said, “You’re his MOTHER??? I thought you were his sister!” And then we had a great but too brief chat about homeschooling.

I also got to show Addison how to use a bank machine with his brand-new card.

In the middle of scrubbing up some of the mess Addison left behind after he moved stuff out of his old room, I told Ron, “He is SO not getting his damage deposit back!” We had fun teasing him though. All by himself, he found the paint can and touched up the walls, so I was happy. We pulled up the skanky rug and tossed it right out. Under that is some old floor tiles, and you betcha there’s hardwood under that, just like the bedroom we finished. Now Sarah is getting all settled in there.

In all this furniture shuffling, we decided to get rid of one of the recliners, since it was in a bedroom and taking up space. Addison and I got it all the way to the curb, when Ron told me he wanted to get rid of the one in the living room and keep the one we had just kicked to the curb. So I made him and Addison switch them, I was too hot & sweaty.
The old pink recliner was at the curb for maybe an hour with a sign on it, when some guy came by and gave us $10 for it.

I also moved a bunch of the craft stuff, from the corner of the dining room up into the attic, We haven’t been doing much, and we’re going to put the desk in there. Kinda like a dining-room-home-office deal. This way, Ron can work at the computer with the door closed if he needs it. I dunno why he finds five other people so distracting. ;)

Ron spent half the day designing a stained glass piece for the oval window in our bedroom, which is currently half-covered by a stud someone put up to make a closet. (picture forthcoming of that mess – the window now, not the nice design)

The craft table will be going into Sarah’s room party for craft stuff (since she & Meaghan are the ones doing most of it lately) and partly because she has room, plus she will use half of it as a desk.

We kicked up so much dust my nose still hasn’t recovered. I did get rewarded for my massive efforts by having Burger King for supper.

Today, some people are coming around to judge my garden for Communities in Bloom.
