How many times do I have to say this?

I had to check something in Internet Explorer. It took me less than TWO MINUTES. During that time, *something* worked its way onto my machine. I’m getting pop-ups from IE literally every 30-60 seconds as I type this.

And I’m speaking with some knowledge here – virus software isn’t the problem or the solution. Never turning on the stupid *%$*^%#* program is. 99% of the crap out there is written explicity to get through IE – doesn’t matter what virus protection you are running. It all exploits MicroSuck.

(And I am not in a good mood – I just sat here screwing stuff up for an hour and a half when it should have taken me 20 minutes, tops.)

  1. Eek! 🙁 (And I bet it was for me…) 😯

  2. Oh crap, sorry you have to deal with this. The same exact thing happened to me last week. I always use mozilla, but had to get something through IE and as soon as I opened my browser, all went to hell. I hope you don’t have to do what I did, reinstall.

  3. 😈 yup, yup – same here.
I opened IE long enough to export my bookmarks and got a virus. I can’t believe anyone uses it anymore.

  4. My suggestion: download Microsoft’s AntiSpyware program. It’s new, free and really good about cleaning out that &%$^…and it’s supposed to block that stuff from even coming aboard. Good Luck!

  5. Check out Spybot Search&Destroy – it’s the anti-spyware program I use and it works everytime. Spyware is the scum of the Internet…

Mozilla Firefox is the way forward.
