Sunday Dinner – better than take-out

(Man, I am so gonna get green-eyed mail for this one.) My turn, my house, and I want Chinese food and have the stuff. So we did.

The menu:
- wonton soup (of course homemade)
- brown rice
- stir fry veggies
- homemade eggs rolls
- sweet & sour chicken balls

My mom brought some store-bought fried rice and dessert: an apple & pumpkin preserve tart on phyllo pastry. Yes, she made it.

Andrea, my mouth is watering for Chinese, and it’s only 8:45 am here! And I live in a little, podunk town with only one Chinese restaurant that’s really, really bad. Guess I’ll have to try your recipes for myself!

  2. Glenda says:

Reminds me of my “hippie days” when I grew mung beans in glass jars to make sprouts then made egg rolls with them (no cabbage!). Must try the wonton soup.

  3. Andrea says:

Hey, I remember your hippie days. Sometimes I use a can of chinese vegetables with sprouts for the egg rolls, but the kids don’t like ‘em.
I’ve never been able to make spring rolls like yours, though.
