You will need:
one can sweetend condensed milk
2 cups chocolate chips
Open the can of condensed milk and pour into a microwave-safe bowl. I have a small but deep glass bowl I like to use.
Do NOT use your finger to wipe up the leftovers in the can, the edges are very sharp and I hearthey leave wicked cuts on your fingers.
Microwave the milk for 2 whole minutes, so it is really hot.
Dump the chocolate chips into the milk and stir well. The milk will be hot enough to melt the chocolate. Stir really really well, scraping the bottom of the bowl..
Pour into a greased or preferably waxed-paper lined 8×8 pan, and spread out into the corners with a spatula or something.
Let cool. In the fridge will speed it up some if you are really impatient for chocolate. Cut into small squares and serve.
The part I won’t tell you about is how you can also use the same recipe to make truffles, taking tablespoonfulls of the cooled mixture and rolling into balls. You could also cut into squares and then roll into balls so they’d all be even. And then don’t roll the balls in fine coconut or crushed nuts or sweeteend cocoa, because that would be too good and we can’t have that. If you get those frilly little paper candy cups tp place them in, people will think you are Martha. Can’t have that, either.
optional:
- use different flavoured chips (white, perhaps?)
- add a cup of chopped nuts or fruit like cherries
Note: I hear if you eat these in the dark, with friends or company just to be polite, or have a half a piece that your toddler licked or chewed on, then it has no calories.
Do I have any chocolateers who will try it and report back to us? This is so easy, kids and husbands can make them.
That is so funny that you would post on fudge. I just came back from the grocery store with my daughter. She picked out a recipe for Oreo fudge that we are planning on making later today. Yours looks easier than mine does. So I think next time I’ll have to go with your recipe. It’s cheaper too!
Ooo- me, ME! I am so going to try this. Sounds simple enough for even me(can’t cook) or Brielle(knows more about “cooking” then me already) to do and I Loooovvveee FUDGE!! It might take me a few days to get to the store but I won’t forget.:)
how big of a condensed milk can do you need?
I think they mostly come in one size? anyway, I checked on the EagleBrand site and the can is 14oz.
Oh, you are just EVIL!
I have a permanent slice scar across the pad of my right thumb from a mishap with a tin can.
I just figure it gives me an especially distinctive fingerprint.
yUP, JOHN BROUGHT ME HOME eAGLE BRAND 14 OZ.
The only problem? My rookie self sprayed the pan with PAM(butter flavored), can you see where this is going? Despite the slimy fake butter shmuck on the bottom, the fudge tastes good. I must get some wax paper( and some chopped nuts?) for next time! Thanks for the fool proof recipe.
Well, Shaye and I made the fudge that last night-it took , oh, 2 and 1/2 minutes.
