My brain is all over the place like this post

Not much going on in the family department, and even less funny stuff. Just normal, everyday things. Oh! I know! We got our piano bench back and lo and behold, there was a “learn to play guitar” book inside. New readers should know that the family got an acoustic guitar for Christmas and ever since then, Sarah has claimed it and has been plucking away at it.

Emma wanted to play outside with someone. “Sarah, will you play outside with me?”

“No, I can’t,” she said, “I have to go upstairs and practise my guitar.”

Emma appeared to be thinking quite deeply for a moment. “Mommy,” she turned to ask me, “Can Sarah take her guitar outside?”

Smart cookie.

What else? Oh, we replastered and painted one wall in our bedroom. We did it now so when my grandfather comes up next week (ACK! Monday!) he will see that, yes, we are in fact making progress. Hee! It is a very nice golden beige and suits the room well. I have a picture somewhere…

The garden is growing all over, flowers are budding and blooming, finally, and we did go out and buy some tomato plants. Just four. I’m hoping we’ll get to some gardening this weekend. We had a whole bunch of plans and things we wanted to do this week, but since Emma was sick our whole sleep routines have been off and we’re all just … off. Even more than usual. Eh, we’ll adjust.

One of the days when the girls walked to the mall, one of them bought some temporary hair color in pink, the wash-out kind. Meaghan’s been using a lot, but it gets everywhere on her and on everything she lays her head on. Don’t ask what the sink looks like. Sarah put a little on the blonde bits of her hair that never did fade, and wouldn’t you know – the pink didn’t wash out. All of us girls need a serious trip to the hair stylist.

I will say they both look cool.

Two weeks ago, I cut out some fabric for nighties for Emma. I finished two of four, within a couple of days. The rest have sat there, on the dining room table.

And? I did it again – I washed one of my WHITE slipcovers with the green blanket.
