Um, yeah. I forgot to mention how Meaghan made out for her birthday. Actually, I didn’t forget, I was just tired or busy or dropping it lower on my list.
Anyway.
My mom asked Meaghan what she wanted. “Cold hard cash” was the answer. So she got it. Twenty five loonies ($1 coins) frozen in a plastic container.
Also, Carl had started a tradition with his daughter, that you get a Swiss Army knife on your thirteenth birthday. He feels one must always be prepared. Luckily, he showed up in our family just in time for Sarah to get one, and this birthday was Meaghan’s turn.
My aunt mailed up some presents earlier, and in Meaghan’s was also two books, one of which was The Vegetarian Manifesto, quite the awesome books for vegetarian teens. Emma had picked out some interesting presents at the Dollar Store, including pens with smiley faces on them, paper with smiley faces, some oragami paper (guess what aisle we were in?), and a gift bag with a smiley on it. “I want it all to match,” she told me. Oh, and Emma got her a chocolate bar too.
Addison got Meaghan a gift card for the CD store, and we got her $10 in a card plus the other half of the computer we gave Sarah.
After lunch, Meaghan and Sarah got dropped of at the mall and came home laden down with new music and giggles.

Oh, lucky girls, to have a sister!
