Why say your I Love You’s on just one day?

So Ron and I celebrated the Big V Day early, although truth be told, we are lovey-dovey all the time. Just ask the kids, they will tell you we are gross. (Except for Emma. She’ll squeeze in between us.) And as responsible adults, we celebrated while doing responsible things, like picking up a rental car which was an hour away. The rental company that Ron’s new office uses no longer has a branch here – which was a five minute walk from our house – so we had to go to Bathurst at the crack of dawn on Saturday morning (was that just yesterday?) to pick up the car.

But we had a WHOLE HOUR of uninterrupted conversation time. Except for the part where I was still waking up. We wandered around a half-closed mall (it really was early) and dreamily held hands in Staples. Because we are geeks like that. Couldn’t find a bookstore and the books we did find were mostly French (even the French tabloids had Brangelina on them), being as we were in Northern NB and all, so we had an early lunch at Wendy’s and headed on home in seperate vehicles.

My husband spoils me, you must know that. Not only did he make sure we had the time together, squeezing it out, he also surprised me on every day of the past week. I woke up one morning and fired up the computer like I normally do to discover he had changed my desktop to a picture of roses with mushy song lyrics. The next day, the lyrics had changed. And the next… And? The day after that (I think) he recycled another lyric but that was the day he told me he had to pick up his dry cleaning and got me a dozen real roses. Six red, six pink. Yesterday, he rewrote mushy song lyrics just for me. Every day he tells me I am beautiful.

God, I love that man.

Now, I kinda hate telling my female friends this, but he is like this all the time. I feel bad for your hubbies and boyfriends, because I know you are reading this and maybe not resisting the urge to smack them on the shoulder.

*sigh*

It’s gonna be a long week with with him gone until Friday.

yeah! i’m glad that someone shares the same perspective on V-D.

it’s so taboo to wish everyone a lil love around this time too

just to say it so that someone knows that somebody cares about them

    but…………you really can’t

Leroy kept trying to change the subject while I was telling the story related to this post :)

Don’t feel bad, you appreciate it and deserve it – enjoy!

Mine treats me pretty good, too. We avoid the V-day thing and just go for general good treatment and love year round.
