Not much going on in the past couple of days. Got a bit closer to finishing some things, mostly phone calls to get them underway, nothing tangible at this point.
Addison will be giving his notice at work this week, as he needs most of August to get organized and get moved. Oh, and find a place to live. He’s tired.
Sarah has been working more, which is all good for her. Except the part where a co-worker went “Hey, look!” and a fireball came from the kitchen area…. (someone got reprimanded for that). She also handled a where’s willy bill, but it was too busy at the time for her to write it down.
Emma likes having siblings who work. It means better pretend games.
Speaking of Emma, (and where aren’t we?) she got it in her head to sort out all our Childcraft books by color.

A couple of the odd colors (teal, umber) threw her a bit, but she did 99% of it herself. I still have the ones my grandmothe rbought me, and my mom scored another stack of the more recent (and not as good, IMO) ones with new titles and stories. The shelf is rather overflowing. Yes, she is half under the table.
I had an idea to try the Hipster PDA and bought color-coded index cards to that end. I didn’t get around to it, but Emma claimed a yellow one and, without knowing why I bought them, decided she’d make her own to-do list on it. She’s in a color phase at the moment, making sure everyone has their favorite color. I got the red stack of books and the pink cards. Daddy gets all the green ones. Emma, of course, gets yellow and her second-favorite is pink. At least we are branching out.
Sometimes I just need to create something, so while digging for other items, I came across our copy of Paper Perfect. We bought it in a bargain bin for $7. Why are the used prices so high on Amazon.ca? Here’s the US link for the same book, different cover. I made a little file folder for the index cards, based on vague instructions in the book for a full-sized folder.

I made it slightly wider than the index cards, but not wide enough to take the sides into account, so the cards are a snug fit. Darn it, now I just have to make another one.
You can tell by the colors who I made it for, and yes it went over quite well indeed. It also ties in quite nicely with the post on creativy and children over in the homeschooling blog, and things Willa and Heidi are talking about.

I started a new blog today, just for my art. Creative Mom was asking about it. You can read about my paper journals at: Heidicrafts.
