Oh it’s a busy weekend

But thankfully for you, we took a LOT of pictures. The sander has come and gone and the floor was a struggle. We finally just started slapping on the paint/stain in a dove grey. We still need to sand around the edges of the room with a smaller sander but we learned our lesson with the last floor and got the middle covered as soon as possible. That way walking all over it untreated doesn’t dirty it up again.

floor before

This is the floor when we started. Actually, this was after we got the carpet up, and the tiles up AND the paper backing and glue. Note the two layers or more of paint on it as well.

After a few rough passes with a drum sander, we got this:

floor after

It’s a good thing we weren’t trying to get down to bare wood, or we’d still be at it. See how it clogged up the sandpaper?

And to catch you up on the rest of the past couple of days, we came home to a bunch of empties left on the counter by teenagers. Meaghan got her hair cut and colored, looks fabulous. Emma collected more randrops. Our strawberries were very ripe, and seconds after that shot I ate it. It was good.

If there was anything else, I forgot. It’s been monstrously busy. People coming in and out – Emma of to play with her grandmother, kids off to work, us off to look here and there for ideas. Every night, Ron and I collapse into our bed, which is still in the living room.

Tagged for 5 things

Jax done gone and tagged me.

5 things in my refrigerator:
leftovers ;)
milk
eggs
chicken hot dogs
chinese cabbage

5 things in my closet:
Well, this is tricky because at the moment I don’t have a closet with my things in it. But had you asked a month ago, it would have contained:
Ron’s dress shirts
a box of dollhouse furniture (a living room set)
a container of spackle (drywall compound)
a large rubbermaid container of out of season clothes
assorted tools

5 things in my purse:
Actually, I have a teeny little backpack purse, and inside is, but not limited to;
3 pens, no paper
a rain check about 6 months old for an item the store hasn’t stocked since
a 6 year old $10 gift certificate for a bookstore we rarely go to
assorted plastic cards for everything under the sun for each member of the family
about $12 in change because we have coin $1 & $2, plus the inside money area of my purse has a broken zipper and all the change falls out when I swing my purse onto my back.

5 things in my car:
I have a van and I recently cleaned out most of the junk, or this would be highly interesting. (I think I had to alter every question so far.)
a box of kleenex
2-3 garbage bags of clothes that need to go to the consignment shop
a small garbage can that never seems to get used
gas recipets
two old pressboard plaques with the original prints torn off. (I have no idea why these are there. Indeed, I have no idea HOW they got there. I think they are Meaghan’s for an art project.)

5 people I am tagging (you know, if they want):
Kim
Natalie
Robin
Glenda
Sherry
