But thankfully for you, we took a LOT of pictures. The sander has come and gone and the floor was a struggle. We finally just started slapping on the paint/stain in a dove grey. We still need to sand around the edges of the room with a smaller sander but we learned our lesson with the last floor and got the middle covered as soon as possible. That way walking all over it untreated doesn’t dirty it up again.
This is the floor when we started. Actually, this was after we got the carpet up, and the tiles up AND the paper backing and glue. Note the two layers or more of paint on it as well.
After a few rough passes with a drum sander, we got this:
It’s a good thing we weren’t trying to get down to bare wood, or we’d still be at it. See how it clogged up the sandpaper?
And to catch you up on the rest of the past couple of days, we came home to a bunch of empties left on the counter by teenagers. Meaghan got her hair cut and colored, looks fabulous. Emma collected more randrops. Our strawberries were very ripe, and seconds after that shot I ate it. It was good.
If there was anything else, I forgot. It’s been monstrously busy. People coming in and out – Emma of to play with her grandmother, kids off to work, us off to look here and there for ideas. Every night, Ron and I collapse into our bed, which is still in the living room.
