Dishwater in the bathtub

Sometimes I think I have a certain destiny, things I have to deal with over and over again for some reason as yet unknown. We had our bathroom reno weekend, and wound up working on plumbing. We got here to the apartment and the drains are acting up. The most spectacualr example is draining the kitchen sink and have it back up into the tub.

Years ago, when we lived in the country, we had a constant battle with our hand-dug well. Water has always been an issue it seems.

But! I have this wealth of experience to draw from. Always looking on the bright side, I am. For a few years, I thought maybe we were headed for misisonary work off in some third world country, because we already knew how to haul water, how to reuse it as much as possible and coud live with it.

Now I think we will be fixing houses forever, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I might need to break down and get my own tool belt though, and practise my pipe-cutting skills.

Ron says I make a great assitant. The manager of the local hardware store says, “Well, you need to do something as a couple to bring you closer together.”

I admit I almost spit out my drink when he said that.

Anyway, another busy day today. The morning get pretty crowded just dealing with getting up and getting ready for the day. This afternoon I am off to visit my Aunt Boo (everyone say HI! She reads here you know,) and then we have to take a long drive down to our bank. Actually, it’s a credit union and we do all our regular banking online, and just need to go down there for special times when we need to sign things. Just some paperwork stuff before we can get our house on the market. By the time we get back here, we’ll all be ready for bed, except for maybe Emma, who will likely nap. Lucky kid.

    Hi Aunt Boo!

Call me an oxymoron (or just a moron, lol) but I would definitely be buying a pink toolbelt. lol. My dad’s a plumber so I’ve always had a thing for fixing things in the bathroom- so why not do it in style, lol?

Oh, I like the pink toolbelt idea… I don’t need too many of my own tools, though. I think we have one (or two) of everything already.
