birthday wishes

Today is my birthday! Lucky me, huh? So far, it’s been pretty good. I even got out of bed without too many issues, and I got tea in a timely manner. The girls were even on the ball enough to make sure I have birthday cupcakes. My mom is coming over at suppertime with who-knows-what.

And not that I am fishing here, becasue I have been showered with gifts lately, but for the few people left on the planet who haven’t got me anything, here’s some hints:
amazon.ca wishlist or gift certificates
paypal money for domains & online stuff like ebay
Rogers movie rentals or gift cards
staples gift cards
(I had this on draft and meant to post it sooner.)

I am hard to buy for. I told Ron he could just get me a card, because he did buy me a house. “But that was for our anniversary” he said. And then I asked him how on earth would he top it? Besides, I’m sure we’ll spend a good chunk of the rest of the year buying furniture.

Anyway, I’ve had goodies show up in the mail every day. It’s awesome.

Today’s challenges

1. roll over and get out of bed
2. go to the bathroom
3. get downstairs
4. check email
5. get comfy on the couch and order breakfast
6. order lunch
7. nap (or try to)
8. talk on phone
9. move around on couch
10. have supper
11. check email, post entry

As you can see, it’s been a full day and I still have to make it back upstairs and go to bed at some point. I will take it easy, as I cannot seem to manage doing anything else. At least today I can breathe. (I kept holding my breath from the pain.)

I went to the hospital and all I got was a lousy scar

I was going to say hey didja miss me, but I just read my own blog to catch up and if I think of all the nice comments, I’ll start to cry (again).

First, I have to say Welcome! to the nurses from 2W at the Miramichi Regional Hospital. Those girls are the BOMB. Yes, I did leave them my blog adress and told them, all to visit. I also left nurse bait. That would be a box of chocolates my mom brought up. The nurses did a great job of taking care of my sorry self, even Nurse Perky, who I said was far too chipper for 7am. And another great nurse said yes, she did have an idea that I was stubborn and uses to doing things for myself. I kept them all giggling. Many of the nurses remembered me from last time.

You know what? This hurts. It also burns, stings and feel really weird. All I keep thinking of is the people who have surgery voluntarily. *shudders* I’m shuffling around like a hunched-over old lady.

I think this is about the extent of my coherency for one day.

And I don’t snore. :P

Home

at last. Andrea was ready to go when I arrived this morning. She is now resting on the couch.

Night 3

Andrea was making more use of the TV today. And her Mom dropped off some fluffy reading material for her. She’s looking forward to coming home. It’s tough to get in a good sleep in a hospital. She did get in a few solid hours without interruption, but she is the sort who needs 8 hours in a row for it to be enough sleep. She is looking better though. Her normal complexion is coming back. She is still getting antibiotics by IV.

It is definitely going to take her a few weeks to recover.

Updated: I keep forgetting to mention that Andrea received (and appreciated) 2 items in the mail from internet friends. Thanks, on her behalf.
