Yesterday we did errands. Carl (mom’s husband) came and picked us up because I can’t drive my van. I mean, I’m physically able, but the insurance and registration ran out and we’re getting rid of it. And really, I am not quite with it enough to drive properly. Not without extensive concentration and stress.
Anyway, I made a list of where we were going, like I always do. Carl thought it was funny, but I do it to remember. Then he realized the list was laid out in the best order to visit them all AND with the least amount of left turns. Yes people, I am that good. Or that crazy. We chuckled.
We got good stuff at the library. The girls didn’t do much because they had the YA section closed off for renovations. I don’t think there’s a book in there they haven’t read at least once already, but whatever. I got out a ton of craft books, and when I exited that area, I saw a lady asking Meaghan how to find certain books. So I showed her how to use the computer to look things up and how the Dewey Decimal system works. (briefly – we were upstairs and the librarians were super busy).
Then we all made our way downstairs, which were where the books she wanted were located, and so were the rest of my children. Then I helped find the books because I noted she was in the wrong aisle and we got to talking. She’s thinking of homeschooling and is tremendusly worried about some things, so we had a nice chat and I gave her my contact card.
(It’s not a mommy card, SHUT UP.)
I told her honestly that the hardest part was getting along with your kids and each other, not the educational bits. I would love to talk to her some more. I hope she calls or emails. She said her cousin just started, and I remember meeting her a couple times. Her cousin lives around the corner from me and I forgot to mention it. Also, I just realized I have forgotten both of their names. (Call me if this is you!)
We went to John’s used books, and Sarah got a pile of CD’s, I got 3 (1 for Ron, 1 for both of us, and 1 for Emma), and Carl got some books. I wished for some extra cash and that things weren’t so tight at the moment, because he had quite a pile of good stuff that we have in mind for a future web venture. (ooo how vague of me)
Then we went to the bulk barn, so I’m now out of money.
Chocolate and veggie chips, mmm. (but not together) Sarah also went in the The Source (Radio Shack) with Carl, and she found an accessories kit for her used gameboy advance for only $10! We were amazed.
I got an origami book from the library and Meaghan has been making items left and right. Also, I keep taking pictures of FOOD.
Emma is excited today because her Bestest Friend EVER is coming over later. My goal for today is to get dressed and fed before then.
Hmm. If I go for a walk, it should wake me up.
