The getting older part is getting worse

I have a horrible confession to make. In fact, it’s so bad, you might just drop me from your blogroll. I know! That would be traigic. But hang on and give me a chance to explain myself.

See, it’s newly summer here in the Maritimes. The weather can change at any given moment. Even knowing that, I set off across the province with one pair of sandals. That’s why last Sunday my feet were cold, what with the rain and single digit overnight temps. And yes, I *am* sorry in retrospect that I stole Ron’s extra pair of socks, and I honestly didn’t think I would really go out in public when I put my sandals on over top.

It was around about then I made a horrible realization. My feet were exceptionally comfortable. Covered, yet somehow cool.

I know, I know. Socks and sandals. In public. And I *liked* it and kept on doing it.

I am so ashamed.

Were they dark socks, and did you pull them up as far as they could go? Only then can you properly claim “old”. ;)

How far behind you do your kids stay? When I wear something that’s not fashion appropriate, mine are usually no closer than cell phone range. I’ve had them demand to take a separate car before, because I wore an “Iron Maiden” t-shirt.

    Were they fun socks?

You and Sarah need to see this article: Presidential Crocs. The column was also carried in my local newspaper, without the photo. I liked it better that way.

Also, the term “single digits” does not mean for me what it means for you. Google helped me adjust. Below 50 F is still cold for summer, even in the Great White North.

My 9 F degrees is your -12 C, which would really be a summer shocker.

You guys are killin’ me… :D
    1. They were grey socks and I was thankfully wearing pants.
    2. The bigger kids are within hollering or visual distance, but with an air of “we don’t know these people”.
    3. Meaghan cried at that picture. *shudders* Emma refused to look.
    4. Oh sorry :D , it got down to 9 C that night and we hadn’t turned on the heat because the rest of my little family were all born in a barn and like sleeping in cold air.

Hilarious!!! I can’t believe he wears socks with the Presidential seal on them!!! I wonder about his boxers . . .

That picture is just so sad. Even sadder is the video I saw where this guy was asking Americans questions about Canada, and President Bush was very happy that Prime Minister Jacques Poutine (Yes, Poutine) was supporting his candidacy. I just shuddered.

I saw that Rick Mercer Across America show, and I thought it was hilarious!
He was tricking everyone with that poutine line, even at ivy league schools.
I am just glad we finally got rid of Cretien who couldn’t pronounce ANYTHING right.
I thought the funniest part of that Mercer show was the Peter Mansbridge part. ;-)

The crocs on the President made me laugh – almost makes the crocs respectable. ;-)
