Remember how I said even though I was behind on decorating, at least I knew where everything was?
Yeah.
The girsl wanted to put up the tree in the living room and we finally had the corner cleared out to do it. We’ve been shuffling things around and cleaning up / decluttering in stages. Added bonus is whenever we move tools or bulding supplies, we have to make sure Dad can find them again.
So Meaghan and Emma put the tree togther and waited for the next step: Mommy puts on the lights.
And we can’t find them.
We went through every box of Christma sstuff I had alreayd hauled out. I even double-checked. No sign of it, which was really odd, as it’s a set of net lights and I roll them up in the original box every year and stick it in with the tree.
No dice this time though.
I was about to go complately insane when it started to dawn on all of us that there were a few select items that we also couldn’t find. Like some fancier ornaments, the elf clothesline and oh yeah… THE STOCKINGS.
I wnet off to do something else, and Meaghan went hunting. She came downstairs with an old printer box labelled “BOOKS” that was under a pile of stuff, and lo, all the missing items (plus bonus really nice stuff I forgot I had) were inside.
Cue heavenly choir. Is it a coincidence the sun has just broken through the clouds?
