I am not sure how this happened

All I did was go to a meeting at the clubhouse. The clubhouse / community center down by the dam because there was this important meeting we were called about to decide what was going to happen to the building. Did the community want to continue having it and if so, who was going to do it?

I heard there was doughnuts.

And somehow I’m Vice-President.

As a consolation you could think how bad it could have been if you hadn’t gone to the meeting. Somebody might have volunteered you for something much worse.

Well, you’re sure to meet people and settle into the community. Socialization, you know.

So just what are you vice-president of?

Well, all I did was open my big mouth with some ideas about things the community could do and how they could raise money and keep the place going. Heck, I even figured out how much they needed to pull in on a monthly basis. (simple math, really. Surprised no one else had done it.)

I am mostly glad to not be secretary or treasurer, because I’ve done that before and don’t like it. :D And I don’t like phoning people. It mostly seemed like there were plenty of people to do any work needed, but not very many willing to make a final decision on anything or be the one responsible for saying “Let’s do this.”.

    And I can do that.

I understand. I asked about a dog in a shelter and ways to rescue him from being put to sleep, and now it seems like it is on its way here…

This is why I never went to church meetings! I saw my mom do everything for everyone.
