I understand. I asked about a dog in a shelter and ways to rescue him from being put to sleep, and now it seems like it is on its way here…

This is why I never went to church meetings! I saw my mom do everything for everyone.

Well, all I did was open my big mouth with some ideas about things the community could do and how they could raise money and keep the place going. Heck, I even figured out how much they needed to pull in on a monthly basis. (simple math, really. Surprised no one else had done it.)

I am mostly glad to not be secretary or treasurer, because I’ve done that before and don’t like it. And I don’t like phoning people. It mostly seemed like there were plenty of people to do any work needed, but not very many willing to make a final decision on anything or be the one responsible for saying “Let’s do this.”.

And I can do that.

As a consolation you could think how bad it could have been if you hadn’t gone to the meeting. Somebody might have volunteered you for something much worse.
