So this friend of mine and I had this little bet going to see how would cave first and post to a forum we were trying to take a break from. I kinda couldn’t take it anymore and sort of tossed myself under the bus. So to speak. (It was painful watching people flounder wthout us.)
This is where you come in, my readers and circle of people I know who know stuff. I need to know some things, and one of ‘em I know less than nothing about.
Elucidate me, if you can, on the culture of the NASCAR lifestyle.
Oh, and homeschooling on the road.
Yes, there will be linkage at the end.
(See? I know about homeschooling. He knows all about NASCAR. Loser writes an article on both. I think it would’ve been funnier the other way around.)

I volunteer to catch you up on NASCAR. What do you want to know? I’m a recent convert and just happen to live 5 minutes from the speedway in Charlotte (where yes, I have spent hour after hour watching cars do nothing but turn left really fast).
Andrea, Here is a little known fact about me. I wrote a chapter in the Mobil Travel Guide Nascar Travel Planner, 2005. Search Amazon. It’s there. I wrote about Infineon Raceway in Sonoma. It was a very large sized joke here in the house for a LONG time because while my husband is a fan, I am not. My children loved to quiz me: Who drives number 5, mom?? Because guess what? I had NO freaking idea.
Last weekend (Daytona! WooHoo!) I told my family that the races are just about an hour too long for me to listen to – that motor noise drives me batty, and after a couple hours I’m climbing the walls. Really. Why do they need sound anyway? It’s just a bunch of cars going in a circle!
For what it’s worth a friend of mine also wrote not too long ago about NASCAR (Always capped!) and she knew little when she started. One article, here: http://www.rismedia.com/wp/2007-04-26/from-start-to-finish-welcome-to-nascar/
Good luck!
