Kim,

ahem. WIFE.

Also, I played Runescape hours a day for weeks. They will tire of it soon, especially if they have something bigger and better to move onto.

Sometimes it pays to wait before checking out links. Just read all 3 parts (or will there be more?). Great stuff. As a long time reader of your blog, nothing surprising but good to read anyway.

I think that there is something important about it being something you and Ron know lots about and are comfortable with. Especially the part about taking computers apart. Many of us just don't have the stuff around to do that. But I think sometimes the fear and desire to control coming from parents is related to their own lack of familiarity with whatever it is. I think that applies to the games, the social networking, the blogs, etc. I wholeheartedly agree that parents have to keep learning, too.

And Addison grew up right? And has a girl friend and a job and a college life and a career? In spite of his fixation on the video game du jour? Whew. Cuz Runescape is getting some hard play at my house and I am resisting the urge to pull the plug.
