just remembered, one way to get rid of a skunk from a garage is to take a stick and tap it on the ground repeatedly and herd it out. Not sure how scientific that is but some pest removal people uses that technique.

That's too funny! We had a few run-ins with skunks back when we lived in the yurt. First time Sage and I tried to chase them off but they just stomped their little front feet and looked threatening. So Sage then grabbed the boom box and played carried that around outside. Seems they didn't like loud hiphop music and wandered off.

A couple years later our cat, Habanero was outside the yurt and managed to provoke a skunk somehow. Half asleep I let him back in the yurt and was utterly revolted - you could *taste* it! Put him back out and he was having none of that. Funniest memory of that was at the crack of dawn seeing his little face peering in the dome skylight, 14 feet up in the air trying to find a way in. Sadly for him the next sound we heard was sliding cat feet as he slid down the roof and then a flash of cat past the window. He was fine but there was something about hs "I iz kilroy teling u i r heer" face that still cracks me up to this day...
