My grandmother on my dad's side died in her sleep. They think she didn't feel well since neighbors mentioned seeing she had drawn her drapes in the afternoon, and she never napped. She was on a fully made bed with just an afghan blanket over herself, so she must have felt off and laid down for a bit, and never woke up. They didn't do an autopsy but the doctors said they don't believe she felt anything at all. My other grandmother died of a heart attack but it was very quick, less than 30 seconds, so while it may have hurt at least it was long and drawn out.
