Unexpected holiday

Rather then going to the gym this morning, my DH and I went for a half hour walk at 6:00 a.m.

My office was painted Friday so I had the afternoon off.  The weather was  perfect, warm but overcast so it was a great chance to go to adult noon swim in the outdoor pool.   When I returned to work this morning I found that the painter’s had not finished.    Even though I went to work heavily medicated the fumes were too strong and I could not stay.  Initially I thought of bringing work home with me, but the server was down.   I’m sure it was a sign for me to go back home and enjoy the day.  And that is exactly what I did!

I spent part of the morning sewing a blue quilt I started this past spring.  The quilt will either be a Chinese coin or a brick quilt, I haven’t decided yet.   It is very tempting to start a new quilt, but I’m committed to finishing some of the two dozen quilts I have on the go.

To take advantage of this unexpected day off, I went to the noon hour swim at the pool with my swimming buddy Michelle.    Completely covered with sunscreen, wearing sunglasses and a visor, I’m sure I was a vision of loveliness.
