The pantry continues

For months we have been searching for just the right bracket to use with the pantry plate rail. We found the perfect wooden brackets at the Gagetown Christmas in the Village fair but only 4, and we needed quite a few more. DH agreed he could trace the pattern and make more but maybe not in our life time.

Hours have been spent on line, getting lost in Pinterest, leafing through Lee Valley catalogs and any other source we could find. The brackets were never quite right, either too big, too small, too expensive, not to our taste, etc., etc.

This past Saturday after visiting with my grand-son’s family in Fredericton we stopped in at the Home Depot to pick up shelving. DH suggested we check out the brackets there as well………….and who knew, we found the perfect match for our pantry.

Stainless steel, with a bit of curve, at a user friendly cost of $9.99 each. DH spent the day putting groves into the boards to hold the plates and viola, here they are…………..our new plate rails.

Carl’s only complaint is some of the dishes look too small now. But not to worry I still have boxes of big platters and bowls waiting to be unpacked. I’m sure the shelves will fill up nicely.

Home Depot and Lowes are my best friends right now. Looks great and yup, lots of stuff in big box stores and occasionally the “right”stuff.
