We woke up to a beautiful sunny morning, with a clear blue sky and no winds. During the storm yesterday the winds gusted to 166 kms which is the equivalent of a category 2 hurricane. A main water line broke on Rothesay Avenue in Saint John so now the city is under a boil water order. We fared fairly well but DH had to spend most of the morning cleaning out the bottom drive way as the winds piled it quickly hard on that spot.
The only sign of wildlife yesterday was a solitary gray squirrel who dug for food despite being almost covered with snow. The squirrels haven’t made an appearance yet. We figure they are either Legion squirrels (spending Saturday night carousling) or Christian squirrels (honouring the Sabbath). Either way I’m sure they will make an appearance by late afternoon.
DH has been busy around the house. He built bookcases in both bedrooms framing the large windows. Here’s a sneak peek, showing the desk which folds out to hold the laptop. When not in use, the extension folds down to hire the wires and plugs.
Even though he still has finishing work, including building a window seat, I’ve moved most of my cook books and quilting books onto the shelves already.

Could Carl come to Arizona and help me? I need lots of projects.
As soon as he is finished his “honey do” list
