Each week our neighbour walks across the field to deliver a dozen farm fresh eggs.
Today along with the eggs, he brought a pound of apple wood smoked bacon and a large bag of freshly picked high bush blueberries and blackberries. His way of saying thanks for allowing him to cut the hay in our lower field with his sycthe to feed the cows.
This weekend he will deliver the dozen organically raised chickens we ordered last spring. He slaughters, cleans and flash freezes them for us.
We sent him home with a bag of dehydrated mushrooms.
I love living in the country.
