Here we are on the last day of September, can you believe it? 2010 is 3/4′s over, where did the year go? Before we know it  Christmas will be here. When I was young each day was before me and seemed to last forever.  Especially the dog days of summer.  The month of August was the longest month of the year.  The days in the week before Christmas each had 48 hours.

Once my children were born, time started to go quickly.   In a blink of an eye I was carrying them home from the hospital, taking them to school and before I knew it watching them with their own children.  And life hasn’t slowed down since.

I guess Daughtery said it best in his song September

How the time passed away, all the trouble that we gave
And all those days we spent out by the lake
Has it all gone to waste? All the promises we made
One by one they vanish just the same

Of all the things I still remember
Summer’s never looked the same
The years go by and time just seems to fly
But the memories remain

In the middle of September we’d still play out in the rain
Nothing to lose but everything to gain
Reflecting now on how things could’ve been
It was worth it in the end

DH however has not been so fortunate.   He has been working away most of the past year, so this week was his first real chance to clean out the basement and his stuff.   We hired a young lad to come over for the day, to help dismantle DH’s workshop.   Not only did he go home with a pocketful of money for his labour, the trunk of his car was filled with what he thinks is really good stuff.   I just can’t see the appeal in nuts, bolts, hammer and saws.   If you’re not doing anything this weekend, give me a call.  I am sure we have enough junk garbage yard sale items good stuff to fill your trunk too

We also signed the lease on our new apartment.   Tomorrow we receive the keys.

My blog will be quiet for a bit this week, but I’m sure I’ll have plenty to tell  once we get settled.

The air conditioning in our office is not working.  They should have it fixed by December.  Same thing every year, some day they might equate fix the air conditioner with summer’s coming.

But I can’t complain.  Imagine if in this heat you had a job like……………………a porta-potty cleaner……….or a garbage collector………..or a roofer.
