Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

On this page: Complete Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy book online at Forever Geek they have online dissertation links to the COMPLETE texts of all 5 books in the trilogy. At least read (or re-read) the first one before seeing the movie.
(yes, I know a trilogy is supposed to be three. That’s why it’s funny.)

  1. Have you seen the movie? I’ve been a sci-fi/fantasy fan for a long time, but have never actually read the Hichhiker’s Guide books. I was wondering if a fan of the books would think the movie is any good. So, I need to read it first b4 seeing the movie? Hmm. Over to the library site to reserve it I go . . .

  2. If I’ve already read the trilogy a dozen times do I have to red it again before the movie? 😉 I was planning on going with my son opening night – but he is going to a sleepover at a friends instead. I think my alternate plan is to stay home and watch Episodes 1 &2 of Star Wars again, to get ready for Episode 3 next month.

  3. This month, I read all 600 and some pages of HHGG five-part trilogy to my now-9yo son (editing a little along the way). Wow. I don’t know if/when we/he/squee will see the movie.

  4. Douglas Adams added this new character called Humma Kavula (or such) and according to the reviews, he holds one head as collateral.

With the computerized special effects, you’d think two heads wouldn’t be that hard. The BBC did it years ago.

We’ve just about decided to wait to rent the DVD instead.
